Deputy Energy Minister of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Khadzhaev, told a local TV channel that Uzbekistan would construct about 25 solar power plants by about 2030.
He said that the first solar power plant with a total capacity of 100 MW would be built in Navoisk region, Uzbekistan.
“The construction works are to start this year and will be completed within two years”, said Khadzhaev.
According to the Deputy Minister, 23 applications for participation in the tender for the solar plant’s construction in Navoisk region have been submitted.
Today, there are 50 thermal and hydroelectric plants in Uzbekistan.
