According to Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), there are about 2 mln of separate solar installation across the USA now. With 96% of rooftop installations, most of the projects are small.
Though it took the industry over 40 years to reach 2 million installations, analysts now expect that the next 2 million to take just four years to install.
California accounted for 51% of the first 1 million solar installations in the U.S. However, in the last few years, states like Florida, Texas, and Minnesota are driving the industry’s growth.
