New Solar Station in Zaporizhzhya Will Provide 6500 Ukrainian Households With Energy

A new solar power plant “Scythia-Solar-1” near the town of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhya region, with a peaking capacity of 13 MW was put into operation. Being a region with high solar activity, Zaporizhzhya is a perfect place for building a solar power station. 38,232 solar panels manufactured by JinkoSolar, one of the world’s leading solar plant equipment suppliers, occupy the area of 20 hectares. A solar power plant of such capacity will generate enough energy to meet the needs of more than 6,500 Ukrainian households.

The “Scythia Solar-1” plant was built by UDP Renewables – this company put into operation “Free-Energy-Henichesk” solar plant in Kherson with total capacity of 18.3 MW and a 6 MW solar power station “Dymerska SES-1” in the Kyiv region. Ufuture Group of Companies, which includes UDP Renewables, plans to build another 5 solar plants with total capacity of over 130 MW by the end of 2019.
