New Solar Power Station Was Installed on the Roof of a Kindergarten in Kyiv

A new solar power plant, consisting of 36 solar panels, was installed on the roof of kindergarten number 601 in the city of Kyiv.

According to Petro Panteleev, Deputy Head of the Kyiv State Municipal Administration, the facility has already saved 9% of electricity for the last 5 months. It is expected that the station will allow the institution to save UAH 25,000 annually.

He also noted that the amount of EUR 8.5 mln was attracted in the public sector for energy efficiency measures, EUR 6.5 mln of which was granted by the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO).


In total, a comprehensive thermal modernization of 28 schools and kindergartens has been carried out in Kyiv for the last three years, which allowed to reducedthe institutions’ energy consumption by almost 50%.
