The Share of “Green” Energy in Ukraine Has Increased to 2.24%

Solar and wind make up 83% of the total Ukrainian “green” energy.

In 1st quarter of 2019, the share of renewable energy in total electricity production amounted to 2.24%.

In total, 39,977 mln kWh were generated during this period:

  • Atomic Power Stations – 22 295 172 MWh
  • Central Heating and Power Plants – 3 909 751 MWh
  • Oil Power Stations – 10 837 765 MWh
  • Hydroelectric Power Stations – 2 042 825 MWh
  • Renewable Energy – 895 484 MWh

At the same time, according to Energorynok state enterprise, wind power makes up almost half of Ukraine’s “green” energy, solar – more than one-third. During the first quarter of 2019, more than 860 MW of renewable energy facilities were put into operation, 700 MW of which are accounted for by solar power plants.

According to the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities of Ukraine, last autumn, the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix made up 1.8%.
