There are 186 private solar power plants with a total capacity of 3.9 MW and one industrial solar power plant – Hanska (invested by Better Energy Energo, Denmark) – with a capacity of 15 MW in Zhytomyr Oblast.
Igor Hundich, a chief of the Local State Administration, emphasizes that Zhytomyr region gets more sunshine than many other sunny areas of the country, which is important both for investors, who work on a number of new projects, and for the population, actively installing private solar power stations.
Thus the following investors from Ireland, Belgium, France, Lithuania, USA and Ukraine will invest in construction of solar power plants in Zhytomyr region.
Thus, Altostrata Energy Limited (Ireland) is ready to install a 65 MW solar power plant in the village of Luhyny, Luhyn district.
Upgrade Energy (Belgium) is going to invest in a solar plant with a total capacity of 25–30 MW in Korosten district, the first phase of which was built in February.
Global Ecopower SA (GEP, France) has approved the technical documents on estimation of land plots for contraction of a 20 MW power plant.
Moreover, Modus Energy International B.V. LLC (Lithuania) – together with Bolohivskyi Solar Park 1 and Bolohivskyi Solar Park 2 companies – plans to build a solar plant with a total capacity of 35 MW.
GESS group of companies (USA) intend to install a 10MW solar plant in the village of Chopovuchi, Malyn district.
Ukrainian companies, Enei International and a subsidiary of Naftohaz-Enerhoservis, are also planning to build 2 solar power plants in Zhytomyr region – with a total capacity of 55 and 30 MW correspondingly.
