The global renewable energy trends show that the “green” price electricity is coming closer to its real price.
Thus, according to the report of IRENA, Renewable Power Generation Costs in 2017, one of the main factors that influence this decline in the cost of electricity, generated from solar energy, is cost reduction of solar panels by 81% compared to 2009. The weighted average cost of electricity generated from the sun’s energy by 73% during the period from 2010 to 2017.
As far as is known, Ukraine is going to reduce the “green” tariff for solar power stations by 25% in 2020. Then, in 2021-2023, the tariff will be decreased by 2.5 percent annually. Moreover, from 2020, mandatory “green” auctions will be mandatory for solar power stations with a total capacity of more than 1 MW and wind power stations over 5 MW.
Given these dynamic changes, such transition from the “green” tariff to the auctions, based on the experience of many European countries, will be a logical stage in the development of renewable energy sector.
